It’s a real buzz when the press give our wines a rave – we know they’re high quality and exceptionally good value, but it’s always great to hear it from someone else.

2006 Chaffers Shiraz
“...those dry grown vines have managed to pump out some pretty healthy fruit.  It’s medium weight and fruit driven with a seamless, easy-drinking structure.  Well worth visiting the cellar door for a chat with the guys too.”
Ray Jordan, The West Australian, April 2008

“...velvety texture and fine tannins.  Well priced too.”
Peter Forrestal, Top 100 Winter Wines The Sunday Times, April 2008

“Fruit driven and pure in presentation, the oak is integrated and the tannins soft and rounded, all making for delicious drinking now.  An earthiness as well as truffles and a hint of game add to the red and black fruits and give it a complexity that makes it interesting to drink...”
Paul Ippolito, The Five-Minute Wine Rush, June 2008

“..Good hue; medium bodied black cherry and plum fruit with some touches of spice; balanced tannins and oak.”
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009 Edition

2006 Fimiston Reserve Shiraz
“Sensational value at the $25 mark … The Fimiston has a rich cherry nose with some welcoming earthy characteristics followed by mouth filling and slightly spicy velvet fruit. The long tannin finish suggests some serious keeping prospects but very drinkable now.”
John Quessy, Newsmonth, December 2007.

“...highly desirable Reserve Shiraz, a red that is rich in fruit flavours, namely the Brown Hill 2006 Fimiston Reserve Shiraz.  This is the perfect drop to accompany a sizeable T-bone steak.  Two other excellent reds now out are the 2006 Ivanhoe Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon ($25) and the 2006 Chaffers Shiraz.”
John Crook, Westside News Brisbane, May 2008

“Brown Hill’s dry grown viticulture and low yielding vines helped produce quality fully ripened fruit...the result, a red with plenty of up front grunt, cherry and plum fruit on the nose and palate, unobtrusive oaking and smooth tannins.  Drink it with rare roast beef.”
Kerry Skinner, Illawarra Mercury, March 2008

2006 Ivanhoe Cabernet Sauvignon
“Medium bodied with pleasant cassis black currant and spice flavours; good tannins and length.”

2007 Lakeview Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
 “Semillon adds to the length and focus, with an attractive lemony cast to a gooseberry fruit;
good length and finish”
92 points - James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009 Edition

2007 Perseverance Cabernet Merlot
“The most elegant and stylish wine from Brown Hill.  A polished stylish wine with poise that holds a silky-smooth palate together with fine tannins, beautifully scented oak and deep and opulent fruit.  The merlot works in here, nicely providing some fleshy softness in the middle palate while the cabernet powers away.  94/100
94/100 points - Ray Jordan, The West Australian ‘West Weekend’ Magazine, September 2008

2007 Chaffers Shiraz
A ripping wine for less than $20.  Deep and intense with rich, lingering flavours on the palate.  Has a lovely perfumed fragrance of violets and black currant with a little plum and then the palate delivers.  Jammed with opulent fruit, fine sinewy tannins and fine-grained oak.  Class wine.  92/100”
